Hi YK, This patch is to fix the problem that CEC will send some wrong pluses. When River was online support before , he found that SMART3 would send error pluses to Samsung TV. So he asked AML about this problem and AML suggested us to turn off this ee_cec flag in dts file. Jerry |

Hi YK, 1. As far as i know , this is a debug flag in cec driver. The correct flow or role maybe ask AML. 2. Maybe we can enable this ee_cec flag on ATV12 to check this issue. If you need to do this request , i will release test FW to you. Because this patch is fixed on ATV9 for HDMI CEC certification. Jerry |

Hi YK, 1. I don't know which one the test item is. After the certification unit discovered the issue and reported it to us. AML said ee_cec flag needed to be turned off. This modification just solved the issue reported by the certification unit. 2. After discussing with River , we think that this ee_cec flag should not solve this problem, But we don't know whether ATV12 and ATV9 have corrected cec-releated issues for ee_cec. Jerry |

Hi Jerry Let me explain the analysis result of LG - v15.537.68 /* ee_cec was removed */ STB : Send CEC ping message EOM(=0) LG TV : Error Handling occurs by Recognizing EOM(=0) as Error STB : retransmit CEC ping because an error occurred So CEC bus continues to be used due to retransmission - v15.537.695 ( test fw ) /* ee_cec is enabled */ STB : Send CEC ping message EOM(=0) LG TV : Error Handling occurs by Recognizing EOM(=0) as Error STB : Do not retransmit even though an error Communication improvements exist(WA), but there is still a root cause First , LG TV is requesting WA. ( enable ee_cec flag ) Can you predict what will happen when ee_cec is enabled? ( ee_cec was removed on FXN Smart3 only.) And I asked AML Korea FAE to confirm the root cause. Hi Mr,Yoon and YK, 1. Do you know why you use ceca in 2019 ? This modificatoin was provided from AML Taiwan FAE. We discuss with Taiwan AML today, but he didn't know correct cec value in ATV12. He ask us to check with AML Korean FAE. Please help us to check with AML Korean FAE if there is any risk to change to cecb. Jerry |

Hi Mr. Jerry Lin, We asked AML Korean Engineer. But they asked RD HQ in china. FII is the developed Eagle. So FII should know. And FII should review that AML recommendation and apply it if FII accept AML's opinion. If FII decide to apply changes from AML, then it should be explained to us why it should be changed. We need your opinion about ceca and cecb and the reason why we should use it and why it didn't use it. S YOON. |

i Mr,Yoon and YK, The following messages are the suggestion provide to us by AML Taiwan FAE. 1. The driver of ceca is currently not under maintenance. Please use cecb. 2. Fox can not review because we don't know what the register value is used for, and AML does not recommend that we modify the cec driver ourselves. The driver is maintained by their RD in China. 3. So I think you need to test of HDMI function with cecb, especially cec function. And you should have compatibility test with various TV. Hi YK, The follwoing TVs are in our QA lab. I will check QA test behavior. Samsung UA40ES5500M SHARP LC-32LE275T SONY KD-65X8500B SONY KD-43XB000H About the failed test case , our QA also check with normal FW(ceca). And the test result is the same. Anyway,i will confirm with QA again. This "SHARP LC-40V7" is in my office. I also check with normal FW(ceca). And the result is the same. About this TV, i also check the failed case with other products. And the result is the same. Jerry |

Hi Mr. Jerry Lin, So do you mean the TVs have issue on CEC function ? If Eagle has same result with other STB, then do you think there is no issue ? If there is no issue on eagle, then please check why the reason that your test result was fail. As you know, we have very various fail result from the field. We cannot ignore some special TV have issues. We should check why those issues happen in that special TV and explain SKB about it. After that we can close the issue. Hi Mr SY and YK, About the failed item "TV's RCU Power Key" of these TVs(SHARP LC-32LE275T / SONY KD-65X8500B / SONY KD-43XB000H / Samsung UA40ES5500M), Our QA check again and find that SMART3 show upgrade UI when we press Power Key via TV's RCU. We ask QA to press Back Key to exit the upgrade UI and the SMART3 can enter to standby mode. This "SHARP LC-40V7" is in my office. We check TV's UI , we find that the TV's UI contains the option of "Auto device off". But this item is enable or disable "TV control device to turn OFF". We also get cec log message from SMART3 , and we can not get CEC Message(Power ON) from TV. We also test SWAN in this TV, the result is same. We think that the TV not support "Auto device on". About this TV "Samsung UA40ES5500M" , i will ask our QA to check with other product (SWAN and other product) and get log message to check. Jerry |

Hi YK, About this TV "Samsung UA40ES5500M", The TV was manufactured in 2012. I will ask QA to upgrgade TV Firmware first. Our other Samsung TV(Samsung UA43RU7400) was manufactured in 2019. The test results of this TV made in 2019 is normal. I also share these log files to Amlogic FAE , but i haven't got a reply yet. I will double confirm again. Jerry |
